A graduate of the Puerto Rico School of Plastic Arts (BA in Art, painting specialty, 1992) and the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn (Master’s in Painting, 1997), Burgos has evolved to master three-dimensional art forms.
Her artistic trajectory is marked by a bold use of diverse materials, ranging from found objects to industrial elements like cement. This innovative approach invites viewers into a world of interactive and thought-provoking creations. Her work is not just visual but an exploration of the interaction between objects and ideas.
Burgos’ notable public works include “Favorite Fruit” (also known as “Avocados”) at Santurce’s farmer’s market entrance and “The Muses” at the Fine Arts Center in Santurce, both acclaimed for their immersive and engaging nature.
In her recent works, Burgos focuses on the human body as a medium of expression and transformation, exemplified by her impactful installation, “Transcorpus”, showcased at the 2005 Ibero-American Festival of the Arts.
