Abey R. Charrón Walker, born on June 29, 1973, in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, is an esteemed photographer known for his rich and diverse portfolio.
His work has graced renowned publications, including El Nuevo Día, highlighting his eminence in the field.
Known for his fusion of traditional and unconventional elements, Abey’s artistic language captures the cultural essence of Puerto Rican and Caribbean life.
His photographic journey began in 1992 in Everett, WA, leading to participation in over 40 exhibitions, consistently impressing with his artistic brilliance.
In 2002, he held a solo exhibition titled “Loiza” in the Dominican Republic, showcasing captivating portraits from Santurce, Puerto Rico.
His signature technique, “Loiza+Calle,” uses tin roofs from old homes to print images of Santurce residents, documenting their lives and struggles.
In 2010, Abey’s artistry earned him a place in the W Hotel in Vieques, Puerto Rico, a testament to his talent.
He was a prominent figure in the Biennial Photography Exhibit of Puerto Rico at the Museo de las Americas from 1998 to 2010.

In 2013, he participated in Santurce es Ley 4, a Street Art Festival in Puerto Rico, with his impactful piece “Niño Trabajando Para un Mejor Puerto Rico” (70′ X 120′).
Abey’s global reach continued in 2014 with his series “PR Killers” featured in the “Tremendous Dynamite” exhibition in Berlin, Germany.
